If you are a cinephile, you may have already watched many action movies and most certainly loved some and hated others. But have you often wondered what makes a good action movie? Well, it’s probably a nice mix of great fights between good and evil with guns or fists and a lot of speed in adrenaline-filled chases and races. In this article, we have put together a list of the best action movies of all time that you should definitely watch. Happy discovery!

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

After many years without a follow-up, the revival of the Mad Max series is a mesmerizing visual explosion. The highest rated action film on Rotten Tomatoes is still considered by many critics to be the best action film ever made. In a post-apocalyptic future where water and gasoline are the most precious commodities, Max and Furiosa, played by Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, cross paths as they flee from Immortan Joe, a cult leader and his army of fanatics. The film won 6 Oscars.

Batman: The Dark Knight (2008)

Christopher Nolan's “The Dark Knight” (2008) – THE DIRECTORS SERIES

With the highest rating of action movies on Imdb, this movie is considered the best of the Batman trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan. Rightly so, since it pits Batman against his main nemesis, the Joker. Nominated for 8 Oscars, it won two statuettes, including the one for best supporting actor for Heath Ledger, who died after the shooting. This film is considered the actor’s best performance and, according to many, the best version of the Joker in the cinema.

Fast and Furious 7 (2015)

There seems to be no stopping Dom’s family, who have been appearing on screen with their colorful and, well, rage-filled cars since 2001. Of course, the main element is car racing, but the entire film series also features some great crashes. In this seventh film, we even have cars that land with parachutes. Also, the farewell to Paul Walker, who died in a car accident without completing his participation in the film, is quite touching for the film series.

Mission Impossible – Secret Nation (2015)

If there’s one thing Tom Cruise knows how to do well in this life, it’s stick with the Mission Impossible movies. It even seems to have gotten better over the years, as the fifth film in the saga has received so many positive reviews that it is already considered the best of the five films released.

The Bourne Identity (2002)

The Bourne Identity (2002) Movie Review from Eye for Film

The story of the unforgettable Agent Bourne has spawned a series of films, but none compare to the first. Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon, is a man who has lost his memory after being shot. As he tries to find out who he is, he is pursued by professional killers, but there are things that the head can forget, but the body remembers all too well, and he shows that it will not be easy to catch him.

Lethal Weapon (1987)

The funny relationship of the Los Angeles cop duo played by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover couldn’t seem to get any funnier, so much so that a TV series was made from the films. But there is no doubt that the original movie is the most interesting in the saga. When veteran sergeant Roger Murtaugh is put to work in partnership with troublemaker Martin Riggs to solve a murder, neither of them likes the idea. But in the end, it’s the best combination possible.

With the list above, you are well prepared for your next movie nights! Have you already watched one of them? How did you find it? We’d love to read from you in the comments below, but keep in mind that some of you may not have seen these movies, so don’t be a spoiler.
